Selling your product online can be extremely difficult or extremely profitable—you just have to know what you’re doing. The internet is a place for instant gratification, and if you are able to give your customer exactly what they want, when they want it, you are more prone to being successful online. In fact, most online businesses fair solely because they were unable to give their customers what they wanted. Doing your research and heavily targeting a specific group of people is the name of the game.

This is the perfect time to learn that the internet is a totally different place when you sell products than a physical storefront is. Well, mostly different. See, the internet storefront grabs the attention of prospective customers quickly, while the physical storefront grabs the attention of prospective customers as they shop throughout their store. This is a huge advantage for internet marketers because those who want to buy products already know exactly what they want. For one, you have the opportunity to sell your product to billions of people around the world, which can make you extremely successful if you play your cards right. It’s absolutely amazing that you can pick a product in a particular niche and grab 100,000 people that are looking for that exact product from around the world and make thousands of dollars per day just off of their interest.
The internet has totally changed the marketing world, and what you’ve learned in college is probably obsolete today (even if you just got out of college). There are so many techniques that simply do not work anymore. Take telemarketing for example, it simply does not work anymore. People hate getting phone calls, and they also hate them when they’re unsolicited. Door-to-door sales, like those who sell vacuum cleaners, is a business model that doesn’t work well anymore for anyone. How can the door-to-door salesman compete with Amazon.com? They simply cannot. The days of desperate, in your face marketing, have changed and now it’s all about giving customers what they want when they want it.
Keeping your customers happy will go a long way. If you have a product you would like to sell online, you need a website (which I can teach you to build professionally with Part II of the Amazing Design Secrets course) and a shopping cart (which you can get from places like PayPal and ClickBank). My sole advice to you is to treat your customer’s right, build a quality product, give away a lot of free resources, and offer a return policy. That is my formula for success.
